Take the first step towards holsitic health and wellness

Because you know that when you feel well down deep inside, that your body’s health will follow.

But maybe the experts have been just looking at the symptoms, trying to fix those. And not looking at the big picture, that is you.

So you feel like somewhere along the way, that “they” haven’t quite got it, they haven’t got you!

It’s a subtle paradigm shift that has swung the momentum toward more holistically based wellness maintenance. So many wonderful people have now had the courage to reach out, to make that first tentative step towards better overall wellness and health.

It starts from the initial interview when we meet to obtain your background and your goals. You might want to de-stress so you can be better for your family. You might need more energy, less fatigue, clearer thinking for work. You might want to enjoy walking a certain track regularly, or just get to the clothesline safely. You want to be happy again! I want to really understand why health and wellness is important for you.

It continues with the gentlest, safest and most relaxing touch therapies you are ever likely to experience.

Along with optional advice on living well in the present moment, day to day.

And it goes forward, with my complete discretion and absolute investment in your success, as you take aim at your personal Mt Everest, whatever that is.

When your goal is acknowledged into the frame of a session, there is a corresponding likelihood of resolution. It is a simple idea, that has great power.

Hi! I’m Rhys Dwyer

Hi! I’m Rhys Dwyer

Everything changed for me following my first Zero Balancing session. Crippling foot arthritis disappeared permanently, along with the after-effects of a severe knee injury that had stopped my paramedic career 3 years earlier. I felt like I was walking on air after that first session, I walked for miles, and I have not stopped!

The following day I felt deep a sense of calm and “being in my old self”, that I realised I had not known in years. While the physical symptoms have gone, the greater transformation has been in my personal growth since then, which I know has brought me to an amazing state of wellness, and happiness. That’s what has led to great physical health.

The wonder of that change in 2016 has never left me, and I’ve since committed my life to bringing a similar experience of physical and mental well-being for others.

Are you ready to see just how far you can really go?

I’m passionate about finding healing options for you, and kick-starting you on your journey to freedom and wellness.

Zero Balancing is a deceptively simple therapy that eases tension out of your structure and recirculates your own energy for complete physical rejuvenation. While CranioSacral techniques can rebalance the nervous system, and help it repair from neuro-trauma, sometimes present from birth.

Positive energy flows into the nervous system and mind where the mental calm, refreshment and clarity that can result are profound.

The present moment awareness and relaxation that you experience during the session is so centering, so healing. I can also give you advice to take this awareness (aka mindfulness) into your daily life, that can change everything for you, give you a new way of being in the world.

Simple, but powerful.

My Mountain

When I got my body back on track with Zero Balancing, one of the first things I did was the Grand Traverse, a hike across the Southern Alps over several days, through some jaw-dropping scenery. After the previous pain and disappointment from a shattering knee injury, the hike was a goal and a dream finally realised!

I recently moved to Levin after my wife passed away in 2024. I’m enjoying gardening, walking my dog Luna, and I love walking along the beach. I’m still exploring the local area and getting to know the community.

I believe Present Moment Awareness, or Mindfulness, is the key to peace and joy in life. Walking and gardening are excellent opportunities to indulge in present moment awareness, and I try to bring it into the rest of the day as well. Increasingly my core self is in control of the reigns, rather than my thinking mind. Its such a great place to live my life from, because I get to savour all of life, now. Plans are great, but I don’t need to spend every waking moment obsessing about the future, nor wallowing in the past. I find peace in the Now, so I’m pretty chilled out 😊

My experience

I’ve always had an inquiring mind and have spent periods as a paramedic, and with a major hospital - also previously in chemistry, research, and information technology.

In 2018 I started practice as a Certified Zero Balancing Practitioner (ZBNZA).

I am also training in Craniosacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute and am able to practice the techniques I have been taught so far.

The human body fascinates me, but what I love is the power of the human mind to influence our health and wellness profoundly. It’s so gratifying to spend time with clients on a holistic healing journey.

In 2020 I completed on line Teacher of Presence training with Eckhart Tolle, one of the world’s greatest teachers of present moment awareness.

I presently do around 900 bodywork sessions each year.

My key point of difference is the multi-layered (holistic) approach to healing body, mind and spirit, encompassed within a very simple therapy. Many adverse bodily symptoms and disease come about from past experiences. However, I never try to “fix the mind”, revisit the experience, offer psychotherapy of any kind, nor force anything.

Instead, I believe that the majority of ailments of the mind can be resolved by getting below the thinking mind, getting away from the past-future orientation, and rooting ourselves in the now. The Zero Balancing bodywork takes care of the physical manifestations, and takes each of us to our own quiet place. Peace.

For some, burying the ghosts of the past, ridding themselves of associated body-held tension, and moving on with life on their own terms, is a huge personal victory.

At the top of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs is Self-Actualisation. Sometimes we don’t know what it is we want to be doing in life, “just not this!” Present moment awareness will help you unlock what it is you want to head towards. When we are living our passion we are fully alive, completely motivated every day, and we are doing what we were put on this earth to do. There is huge satisfaction in that.
